Shanghai Dinghan Biotechnology Co., Ltd (former name was Taiwan Huayi Orchid Garden) was found in 1992 by Mr. Su Jun-ming. Initially, he planted orchid only for personal interest. Later, in order to pursue bigger development he focused on professional breeding, propagating and planting of phalaenopsis. In 2000, it went into China mainland market and ran business operation for long-term corporation development.

Based on the purpose of everlasting operation, Dinghan is continually importing the latest variety, technology and equipment both from domestic and overseas. It provides various kinds of phalaenopsis and orchid seedlings, which have high standard quality, competitive price and meet the requirements of customer and market, to clients from different regions of international market. Consequently, it establishes the unique production and marketing network: one R & D centre, multilocality production facilities and global layout. Currently, Dinghan has 6,000 square meters breeding lab, 160 ultramodern clean bench and 60,000 square meters intellectual greenhouse.

The Dinghan team, which consist of 200 members, concentrates on the continual development and improvement of breed research, virus detecting, group propagating，orchid seedlings planting and business operation.

In breeding department of Dinghan, the breeding plan conducts hundreds of hybridization and selection of fresh seedlings. In about 40% combinations of crossbreeds, 1 to 10 individual plants are selected from each hybrid series, and transferred to group propagating lab for sifting. In this step, the standard is to catch up with the market trend and the requirements of basic business production. The propagated seedlings by individual plants should be carefully observed and recorded for health and virus detecting. Therefore, only a few of varieties can get access to the phase of trial-produce. After that, the potential varieties should accept strict conditional test during third step. The varieties that pass the test can finally enter into the phase of massive business production.

In order to make sure the stability and propagative efficiency of breeds, the biology department is mainly responsible for R & D of the unique production process and prescription for each breed. Currently, it has the capacity of producing 16 million healthy bottle seedlings annually.

The production department mainly take charge in the healthy growth of different phases orchid seedlings in intelligentized greenhouse, in which 4,000 square meters greenhouse is used for domestication of bottle seedlings, about 2,000 square meters are conducted for breeding and R & D, 2,000 square meters air-conditioned cold room is employed for annual speeding up task, and other greenhouses are engaged in planting different kinds of small, middle and big etc. orchid seedlings which satisfy clients’ requirements.

The operation department is mainly in charge of researching the prevalent trend of future market with customers. With the continually updated industrialization and market changes, it works with clients to arrange global layout and supports clients with the highest quality, fastest speed, lowest cost and best service.
